Kalalau Trail

This trail provides the only land access to the Na Pali coast.

The Kalalau Trail is a trail along Nā Pali Coast and is considered one of the most beautiful and remote areas on Kauai. The trail runs approximately 11 miles or 18 km along the island’s north shore from Keʻe Beach to the legendary Kalalau Valley. This trail is definitely not for beginners. Most parts of it are rugged with some eroded areas that are very narrow.

Expert hikers can complete the round trip 22 mile trek within a day hike. However, most hikers will take two days to complete the trek and will need to camp along the trail. If you’re thinking about going to this trail, you need to know that camping here is only permitted on the beach at Hanakoa Valley and Kalalau Beach.
