Manoa Falls Trail

The Manoa Falls Trail is part of the Honolulu Makau Trail System which is found in the island of Oahu. This 1.6 mile long trail leads to the 150 foot waterfall known as the Manoa Falls. This is one of the most popular trails in Hawaii and has even been used as one of the locations for the movie ‘Jurassic Park.’

The best time to go on a hike here to see the waterfall is during the rainy season which is from November to March. During this time, there’s more water in the falls and rainbows are also more likely to be seen here. However, hikers are advised to take extra precaution during this season because the trail is often muddy and slippery. It’s also not safe to swim in the pools of water near the trail due to the threat of Leptospirosis.

This trail is very easy to hike because it’s short and follows a straight path. Even beginners will not have much difficulty in hiking this trail. Most visitors usually take one hour to hike the trail round trip. There’s paid parking ($5 per vehicle) near the entrance of the trail beside the snack shop called Rainbow’s End.
