Waialea Beach (Beach 69)

This place is also known as ‘Beach 69’.

Waialea Beach or Beach 69 is located in the southern portion of Kawaihae Bay, on the western coast of the big island of Hawai‘i. It’s s also known as ‘Beach 69’ because of the number 69 on the telephone pole located close to the parking area of this beach. The bay near the beach is known for its diverse marine life, which makes it a popular site for snorkel and SCUBA diving activities. During winter months, humpback whales are often seen outside the bay.

There are showers and restrooms in the area, but there are no tables or nearby shops nearby. Children should be closely watched on when you’re here because there’s no lifeguard on duty at the beach.
